Victorian government is helping sports clubs

The Victorian government supports the return of community sports clubs to the field following their impact from disasters or unexpected events, such as equipment theft. Grants up to $2000 are available under Round One of the Victorian Governments emergency sports equipment grants program.

The grants offer clubs fast, practical support to get them back on their feet when times are tough, replacing critical equipment lost through fires, thefts and other disruptions.

Previous grants have included the Traralgon City Football Club, which received nearly $2,000 in assistance following flooding, and the North Sunshine Tennis Club, which also received $2,000 towards replacing stolen equipment following a break-in.

These government initiatives have made community sports more accessible and inclusive, stimulated the local economy, built opportunities for local sports and volunteers, and increased engagement.
